MSU Alumna Lindsay Warren, owner of Lindsay Warren Consulting, shares how she transitioned from Telecommunications into entrepreneurship and pursued her passions for animal rescue.
Lindsay Warren began her professional career in 2002 as National Sales Assistant at Greater Media Detroit (WCSX/WMGC/WRIF), followed by the position of Business Development Coordinator.
As National Sales Assistant, she assisted in the execution of national radio advertising and promotional campaigns. As Business Development Coordinator, she worked for two sales forces by preparing event sponsorship proposals, planning station events and creating promotional recaps.
Lindsay was promoted to Director of Event Marketing of Greater Media Marketing (a division of Greater Media Detroit) in January 2007. She managed large-scale events supported by major sponsors, including soft drink companies, automotive dealers, jewelers, snack food companies, law firms, financial institutions and local hospitals. Some of her events included “Women Who Make Magic,” “Toys For Tots” and th “Magic Prom.” Additionally, she managed a variety of interactive media programs such as “Motor City Steals and Deals.” Concurrently, she served as the assistant to the Director of Corporate Communications. In that role, she composed, edited and distributed national press releases.
In December 2007, Lindsay left Greater Media Detroit to pursue her dream of running her own company. Her clients include small businesses, non-profits and local entrepreneurs.
Lindsay is very enthusiastic about animal welfare. She serves as the Public Relations Director for the Michigan Animal Adoption Network. She also has volunteered for A Dog’s Life Rescue, an animal rescue organization in Los Angeles, and has helped raise over $100,000 for the organization.
Lindsay Warren graduated from Michigan State University with a Master’s Degree in Telecommunication. She lives in Metro Detroit with her husband, Richard, son, Thomas, their rescue dog, Pebbles and rescue cats Chloe and Daisy.
