Lance is Executive Coach and President, Oppnå® Executive & Achievement Coaching. Lance founded Oppnå® Coaching following a 35+ year career in Human Resources. Lance has earned the following professional Coaching credentials and certifications:
- Certified Intelligent Leadership Executive Coach- John Mattone University, May 2017
- Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF), January 2017
- Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through Coaches Training Institute (CTI), December 2016
- Certified Internal Co-Active Coach, Medtronic Coaching Cadre, CTI Co-Active method, November 2014
Prior to founding Oppnå® Coaching, Lance was with Medtronic from January 1998 through December 2016. He joined Medtronic as the Director for U.S. Compensation & Benefits. He served in several roles before being promoted to HR Vice President with Medtronic in August 2004.
Lance served in a variety of business unit and functional roles as an HR Vice President through December 2016. Lance’s last role at Medtronic was as the VP-HR for the Cardiac and Vascular Group (CVG) Operations and Quality organizations, which he held from August 2013 through December 2016. Lance retired from Medtronic effective January 1, 2017 to start Oppnå® Executive & Achievement Coaching.
Before coming to Medtronic, Lance worked in various HR professional and leadership capacities in the consumer electronics industry with RCA, GE and Thomson S.A. of France. He began his career at the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company.
Lance holds an MS in Economics from Butler University and a BA in Social Science, Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.
Lance also holds professional certifications in Hogan Assessments (Level 1), Compensation (CCP), Benefits (CEBS) and Human Resource Management (GE’s Advanced Human Resource Management Program, Crotonville).
